Programme Outcomes (POs):

B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics programme under 4 years CBCS provides a strong base for students in fundamental knowledge of physics through the core courses namely Mechanics, Mathematical Physics, Modern Physics, Electricity & Magnetism, Wave Optics, Electronics, Classical Mechanics, Relativity, Thermodynamics, Solid state Physics, Statistical Mechanics, Spectroscopy and Quantum Mechanics. After completion of this course the students to have a good understanding of the subjects and will attain ability to

PO1: Acquire a systematic and coherent understanding of the diversified academic field of Physics through good understanding on various components of Physical Science

PO2: Solve & understand major concept in all disciplines of Physics.

PO3: Employ scientific knowledge and critical thinking in their daily life.

PO4: Eligible for state public service competitions, Union public services competition examinations, banking sector etc.

PO5: Teaching in School.

PO6: Employ scientific knowledge to pursue research.


PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs):

This undergraduate programme in Physics includes theories, experiments and concepts of physics based subjects. After completing B.Sc. Honours in Physics, various opportunities are available for the candidates

PO1: Develop strong competencies in Physics and its applications in technology rich interactive environment.

PO2: The Students will be able to demonstrate both an understanding and the practical application of ethical standards as well as scientific temperament in public and private life.

PO3: Either, they can opt for higher education, i.e. M.Sc. or they can go for a job in the relevant field.

PO4: There are a number of job opportunities available for a B.Sc. Physics graduate such as Physicist, Physics lecturer, Lab Assistant and Scientist etc.

PO5: After the completion of B.Sc. degree course, Students can appear in national level entrance tests like IIT-JAM, JEST, TIFR-GS through which they can take admission in top institutes like IIT and IISER in India.

PO6: Improve general employability index compared to other subject.

PO7: Enable to study and work in the area of Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) etc.

PO8: Applying conceptual knowledge of Physics to real world situations.

PO9: Acquire Global competencies.
