The objectives of the M.Sc. program are to create the good knowledge and understanding in Physics subject through the core area of course which contains; Quantum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics, Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy, Solid state physics, Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics, Statistical physics, Electromagnetic theory, Electronics, Nuclear and particle physics. The elective courses (Solid state and Nuclear Physics) in the IV Semester are designed by Magadh University to build broad knowledge with specialization in particular field. The Physics laboratories (electronics and optics lab) in this department are made to develop scientific temperament.
After completing the Post graduation in Physics at the Department of Physics in Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya, the students will be able to:
PO1: Understand and acquire a good knowledge in the various specific sub-fields of the Physics such as Quantum mechanics, Solid state Physics, Astrophysics and Nuclear Physics etc.
PO2: Study to carry out experiments in basic as well as certain advanced areas of physics like Optics, electronics and solid state Physics.
PO3: Prepared the national level competitive exams such as CSIR-JRF/NET, GATE, JEST, Geo-Physicist (UPSC) and for scientist position in various research centres
PO4: Demonstrate their competence for Doctoral study in physics and/or careers in scientifically oriented jobs in the public or private sector.
PO5: Chances of getting accepted to graduate programs (Ph.D.) anywhere in the world.
PO6: To qualify various government Jobs such as lecturer at Senior Secondary level and colleges & universities and R&D agencies and Research Institutes.
